Clarksburg Village is a thoughtfully planned residential community located in Montgomery County, Maryland, designed to offer a balanced lifestyle that combines modern living with a strong sense of community.
Our Story
Clarksburg Village is a development of Elm Street Development, a privately held firm based in McLean, Virginia. With a long-standing reputation in the region, Elm Street Development has successfully developed over 200 communities throughout the metropolitan area, including more than 40 within Montgomery County.
The vision for Clarksburg Village began in 1984, when Elm Street started assembling the approximately 740 acres that now make up the community. Over the following decades, the project progressed through extensive planning, public meetings, and regulatory approvals. This included the Clarksburg Master Plan, as well as the Preliminary Plan, Infrastructure Plan, and multiple phased site plans.
Elm Street Development oversaw the preparation and construction of the community’s core infrastructure, including water and sewer systems, roadways, sidewalks, and shared amenities. Once completed, these features transitioned to the Clarksburg Village Community Association, which is responsible for their ongoing maintenance and care.
Today, Clarksburg Village is home to approximately 2,409 residences, offering a vibrant and welcoming environment for homeowners and residents alike.
